Day 128 - Adelaide to Torquay

Finally setting sail for the (hopefully) wave-rich Victorian surf coast! We said a sad goodbye to Mary and the Knox family and headed out through the hills. We couldn't really drive through Coonawarra without doing some tastings so dropped in at Balnaves, Di Giorgio and Wynns. All had a decent cab sav (amongst others) but the top shelf Balnaves left a lasting impression. Di Giorgio was good but not an amazing standout. Can't go wrong with Wynns black label though, they knnow what they're doing!

Great to head into the familiar territory of the Victorian countryside! It's a pretty area but also exciting to get closer to the surf coast, a spot we'd been looking forward to despite all the adventures so far. Very excited as we turned right at Geelong and headed down to Torquay (Jack's surf-drive every weekend for the last 4 years). A late surf check at dusk showed a bit of swell getting in so hopefully we'll get some waves tomorrow!
