Day 094 – Port Denison

Got up for the early but the swell had dropped and it wasn’t lining up properly. Got a few waves at least but not managed to knock one of my fins out and lose it to the depths of the ocean. Dammit! The wind got up even earlier than yesterday and we basically had to hide in the camp kitchen all day! Got on the internet and a bit of research showed that WA is notorious for onshore winds this time of year, not just in the arvo but sometimes from early morning and something none of the surf books had mentioned.

The wind was exceptionally bad at the moment with a high pressure system moving through but we decided to bail to Perth tomorrow as it's pretty much useless staying here another night when all we can do is hide indoors. Maybe WA will be a write off and we’ll end up having 2 months in Vic and NSW? We’ll see what Margaret River has to offer in terms of some protected spots.
