Day 093 – Geraldton to Port Denison

Woke up to heaps of wind and drizzle, the first rain in a long time! Did a surf check and found a couple of spots but none really working so decided to pack up and truck out of town. We’d planned to stay 2 nights here but the town wasn’t really appealing and the surf options weren’t really the best.

We headed south for Port Denison (60km away) and checked a couple of surf spots on the way. Everything was howling onshore (which we’re quickly discovering is standard for WA this time of year!) but this was a scouting mission for tomorrow morning. We got down to Port Dension to find waves right in front of the caravan park! Great camp-shui in terms of location, you could see breaking waves 50m away from the comfort of your tent. The marina and breakwall protect this spot from most of the southerly wind and we got out there for two hours of 3-4 foot, slightly sloppy waves.

Surf: Port Denison, WA, 3-4 foot, 2.0hr (81.5 total)
