Day 022 - Agnes Water

Our last day in bricks and mortar luxury before we do the big drive to Darwin. Spent most of the day doing bits and pieces to get ourselves ready: a few more things on the truck (hopefully this exhaust repair will work), booking campsites and packing our board bags for Bali! No more wetsuits, no more small-wave fun boards. We packed the tropical surf wax, booties and boards a couple of inches longer than normal. Slightly scary but very exciting :)

Wandered down to town for a bit of lunch and checked out the beach to see a very small wave peeling along the point but not quite surfable. Might hit it first thing in the morning before we drive west.

With surfing not an option we decided to have a bit of a fish so bought some bait and got the local lowdown on the flatties biting on the runout tide. We didn't catch the big one but managed to knock off a couple of beers, catch an undersize fish each and see a pretty nice sunset so it wasn't all a waste of time. Quite happy with my new fishing rod and keen to do a bit more fishing as we head around Oz.
