Day 021 - Agnes Water (Lady Musgrave Island)

Day trip out to the reef today. Wouldn't want to do the 1.5 hour (60km) commute out to Lady Musgrave Island every day but it was stunning when we got there and great diving and snorkelling. Dived the outer wall of the reef through caves and overhangs and saw plenty of fish, reef sharks and 2 huge stingrays, really fun dive. Also eyed off the 3 foot waves peeling on the outside of the reef but the wind was a bit wrong for the waves to be really surfable. There must be some days out here when it goes off though.

Jack couldn't do the first dive because he's yet to get certified so the second dive (with Jack) was inside the lagoon. Only went down about 5 or 6 metres but there was a lot more colour and they fed the fish as we went in off the pontoon so there was no shortage of excitement!

Really glad to have been able to include the Great Barrier Reef on the trip even though every day we have a new adventure is a day we're not surfing. The lack of waves has been getting to us but it's only 2 weeks to Bali and hopefully we'll make up for it there and once we're in WA.
