Early surf with Emma and Babs at Grupuk (starting to loathe this place!) then borrowed some helmets from the surf shop for the ride into the town of Praya (45 min) to go to the ATM. Fairly exciting ride, especially when a truck overtakes a bus coming right towards you! Managed to get into the groove of dodging bikes, vans, dogs, horse and carts, etc. Got ourselves cashed up and back to Kuta intact.
Headed out to Mawie for an arvo session (starting to get sick of this commute!). Not perfect but a few 3 footers coming through and we had the lefts to ourselves! Got a few fun ones but also got myself smashed into the reef and cut my knee and foot open. Wasn't too bad but looked pretty hardcore walking back up to the beach with claret running down my left shin. Not much fun scrubbing it out with the toothbrush later on (to get rid of all the nasties from the live coral) but could have been way worse! Great view of Kuta as you come over the last hill, finally managed to get a decent photo of it (last pic).
