Day 008 - Byron Bay

Not super impressed with this urban campsite business, much prefer national park camping! Slightly weird having streetlights next to your tent. No lack of birds though, nor flying foxes which seem to take great pleasure in flying over my tent all night and vomiting on the way past.

Not much surf today (although plenty of punters in the water) so we went for a walk around the lighthouse. Didn’t see any whales or dolphins from up there which is a first for me. The girls went for a massage so Jack and I went looking for waves but ended up at Tallows for a pretty ordinary onshore session. Ran into my mate Mike in the carpark who was down for the day from the Goldie. Awesome to see a familiar face and got to catch up in between waves.

Surf: Tallows Beach, NSW, 1-2 foot, 1.0hr (15.0 total)
