Day 007 - Iluka to Byron Bay

Bit of a sleep in, lazy brekky and then we hit the road for Byron. Nice sunny days so far but freezing at night, getting better as we go north though. More sugar cane, more banans, more rivers and more classic point breaks!

Checked Lennox on the way up and awed as always by the amazing setting but it wasn't really working and pretty much everywhere else onshore. Set up camp in Bryon and got wet for a very late session out the front of the caravan park at The Wreck.

Very small (despite the insistent claims by the cheerful Canadian kook camping across from us that it was great) but at least protected from the wind and stunning scenery with the sun going down over the hinterland and obligatory bongos playing on the beach. Fingers crossed for more swell!

We had our first guests arrive tonight. Jack picked up Dani and Violet from Coolie airport while I slapped together some dinner. The girls arrived with presents, cupcakes and news of the baby yabbies that are still battling for supremacy in Violet’s fish tank. Was meant to be a quiet meal and a few drinks but the facist security guard at the caravan park told us off for causing too much noise at 11pm and made us go to the pub.
