Day 131 - Mornington Peninsula
Great surf first thing at Gunnamatta Beach. We walked down the beach to find our own peak and paddled out into some awesome A-frame waves (peeling both ways from the peak). It didn't take long for a crew to notice us getting waves and paddle out, making it quite crowded. Got a few awesome ones though, another foot in size and a couple would have been like Inside Eckas in Lombok!
Did a bit of winery tour after lunch as Mornington is well known for it's pinots. We visited Paringa Estate, Stonier, Montalto and Mainridge Estate. All had some top notch wines and I'll especially look out for Stonier in the future. Mainridge is quite a small operation specialising in pinot noir. We had a good chat to the old winemaker guy and learnt quite a bit about the region and pinots especially. Really, really good pinot noir but they don't make much though so you're not likely to see it on a wine list.
Headed back out for a late surf but the swell had dropped off quite a bit and the onshore was up. Wasn't really that great but had an hour's grovel anyway.
