Day 118 - Condingup to random Nullabour rest stop

Decided that we weren't going to score epic surf around Condy (the forecast wasn't looking good) so we packed up for the big drive across the Nullabour. Went down to Wharton for a final surf check and watched about 25 dolphins surfing the waves just off the shore, amazing! We went out for a quick houry in the little waves and then trucked out of town.

Quite a mission to get to the highway, 200km of rough backroad about a foot deep in fine grey bulldust! Nessie charged through ok although I kept expecting to stop dead at any moment, we were spewing out what I could only describe as a boat wake though the dust. A very cool sector and possibly the most remote one that we've done in terms of how few vehicles we saw.

Made it up to the highway in one piece and once again turned towards home! First sector was Australia's longest straight stretch, 90 miles or 146.6km. Glad Jack was driving. We all cheered when we came to the first bend after 1.5 hours in a straight line! We didn't quite make the border so pulled off before dark (although well into roo-o'clock) and camped up for the night in (really) the middle of nowhere.

Surf: Wharton Beach, WA, 1-2 foot, 1.0hr (112.5 total)
