Day 110 - Yallingup to Fernhook Falls

Said a sad goodbye to Yallingup today and hit the road towards the south. Dropped in at one last Margaret River winery on the way of course (Moss Brothers). Quite a few good wines, I bought a couple for Dylan and Renae's wedding present and bought myself a quite-excellent chardy.

Bit of a crappy, windy, rainy day but still pretty heading down to Augusta. Great views but freezing cold wind so we didn't spend too long out of the car. Cool to stand at the most south-western corner of Australia but even cooler to turn left and actually be heading towards home!

Really stunning drive though the huge forests to Permberton and we stopped off at yet another winery, Salitage. Quite a few nice ones including the 2007 Pinot Noir and 2007 Chardonnay. They also do another label called Treehouse with a standout 2005 Pinot.

Towards evening we found ourselves in a national park called Fernhook Falls looking for a campsite in rather ominous weather. Not only did we find a good spot but half the campsites were little wooden huts. We took over one of those and set up all our gear inside. Such good fortune as it proceeded to belt down rain all night while we had a great time watching dvds on the laptop and sipping our recently purchsed wine!
