Day 065 - Maguk to Katherine

We liked Maguk so much that we went back first thing and took our snorkels and masks this time. So glad we did, it was awesome snorkelling and diving down the sheer rock walls and seeing all the barra and other other fish. No turtles (unfortunately) and no crocs (fortunately). I climbed up the cliff again (much to the surprise of the German girls in bikinis at the top) and dived through some of rock pools and sink holes. So much fun, I love that stuff.

Headed south and took the big side trip to Gunlom Falls. Great view from the top and nice little rocks pools for a swim but not a patch on Maguk. Pretty amazing pool at the bottom though, would be quite something in the wet season with the waterfall running (just a trickle at the moment).

Made it to Katherine and stayed in the same caravan park from the family trip years ago. Went for a beer and to check out the "live music" which turned out to be a guy called Geoff Evans rocking out with his keyboard and pre-programmed Casio drum beats. In no way was it cool, sorry if I made it sound that way. It was in fact bizarre, cheesy and very funny.
