Off to KL today after some electronics shopping at Sim Lim. So begins the joy of travelling with surfboards. We arrived at the bus terminal to be told they don't take surfboards but Jack managed to charm/bribe the lady into letting us on with them for a fee. The Singapore-KL buses are quite luxurious so the trip wasn't too bad at all (about 5 hours). Asian hilarity during the announcement when the hostess informed us that the toilets were only for light usage. We thought we knew what she meant but were sure of ourselves once we saw the sign downstairs!
Arrived ok in KL but the taxis are slightly smaller than Singapore so we couldn't fit our two boardbags in by laying down the front passenger seat. Plan B was to find a van which we eventually did but both with an ominous feeling that these fibreglass objects are going to be the bane of our lives for the next several months!
