Day 091 – Coral Bay to random rest area

The camp-shui which was great last night quickly deteriorated as the sun came up! We got into gear and hit the road, cruising along the dirt track next to the coast and checking out a few secret surf spots but unfortunately nothing was quite working. All heavy reef breaks (on my backhand) anyway so probably a good thing!

Got back to the highway and trucked south. We sighed as we went past the Gnaraloo turn off (famous north-west WA hell wave) but the 200km diversion was too much for our itinerary (we'd only be watching anyway). We stopped in Carnarvon for supplies and a look around but a couple of hours was more than enough. We looked at the famous One Mile pier but decided we didn’t need a two mile walk with all the driving still to get through today. We drove until dark and pulled up at a random rest stop for the night.
