Good to be back in Bali. Yeah some people were friendly in Lombok but almost nowhere in the world has people as genuinely friendly as the Balinese. Also good to be in a decent hotel with AC, a flushing toilet and a pool! Like most other places they say hot water but there's only one tap and it ain't hot. When we got back we'd thought someone had broken into the room because our stuff had moved but they'd actually just made the beds!
Surfed Airport Lefts first thing and got a few nice ones. Bit (very) crowded and inconsistent but managed to snag a few cheeky ones from the pack. When you got one they were pretty fun, 5 or 6 turns worth. Water was quite cold, probably about 23C and noticeably colder than Lombok. Spent the rest of the day wandering around and doing a bit of DVD shopping. Quite fun to be right in the middle of the whole Poppies Lane 2 area and experience the full bogan Kuta scene. Fun for a few days anyway but you wouldn't want this to be your total Bali experience.
