Day 013 - Byron to Sydney (via Brissy)

Packed up our stuff into our multiple IKEA bags and trucked north. The awesome exhuast putty repair we did yesterday lasted about 20km before blowing out! Might need a professional... or at least better putty.

By the way, IKEA bags are one of the best inventions in the world. In fact Jack and I reckon the top 5 essentials for camping under $5 each are:

1. IKEA bags (or those cheap checkered bags from $2 shops)
2. Bulldog clips - great for sealing cornflakes, clipping national parks passes to the sunvisor, etc
3. Duct tape (obviously)
4. Cable ties
5. Bungee cords - but try to avoid flicking your mate in the face when packing a 4wd

Stopped in at Mike's pimped house at Mermaid Waters on the way up. He's living in what seems to be an 80's mansion out of Miami Vice, complete with bbq and spit built into the pool entertaining area (see photo).

Jumped on a plane at Brissy airport and flew back home to surprise my sister for her birthday! Quite weird (but not unpleasant) to be a scummy camper in the morning and 12 hours later be suited up eating oysters at the top of Sydney Tower!
